Wow – this is a real “who’s who” of communist countries during the early 80s! Very interesting video – I wonder what made the local TV focus on KIS…?

I noticed that KIS seemed to be speaking without an interpreter to several people. I guess he must have been a fluent speaker of Russian and Chinese after living in these countries.

At this point in time, the DPRK had already started defaulting on foreign loans, I think, so I guess KIS was no longer the great favourite he’d been earlier in socialist countries (my country, Sweden, ‘lent’ billions to the DPRK and many Swedish companies sent goods that were never paid for).

I do not remember Tito’s death as I was only a very young girl at the time. But I think it is very sad that his feat in creating Yugoslavia was destroyed in the end,  only 10 years after his death!
